Fyfield Road, Ongar (Epping Forest) – Unanimously Approved at Committee
We are delighted to announce that the planning application for 23 homes at Fyfield Road, Ongar for Murphy Mckenna Ltd. obtained planning consent at Epping Forest District Council planning committee meeting.
The scheme will deliver 9 affordable homes and 14 Private Sale houses, all designed to meet the Nationally Described Space Standards (NDSS) and help address a shortfall of these tenures of housing within Ongar.
The proposal was inspired by the local vernacular of existing dwellings and acknowledging the council’s close relationship to London. There is an extension to the existing Public Right of Way located West of the site, on the adjacent to agricultural land and connects to the main access of the site on Fyfield Road. The site benefits from SuDs, maintained green spaces and also allows for additional parking to the nearby Doctors Surgery. The house mix consists of three and four bedroom family homes with their own garage spaces and large two bedroom apartments with generous private balcony spaces.
FINC Architects worked closely with Tim Murphy at Murphy McKenna and Matthew Wood at Phase 2 Planning throughout the project. Other notable consultants who worked on the scheme are Steve Burton at Ardent Consulting Engineers, Landscape Architect Kirsten Bowden and CGI consultant Steve Banks to deliver a high-quality scheme supported by Epping Forest District Council, Ward Members and the Planning Committee.
Special mentions go to Lead Architect & Design Team Manager Adam Leatherbarrow, with the assistance of in house Graphic Designer Steve Mills from our Chelmsford HQ in delivering this project.
We are very much looking forward to seeing this scheme developed in the near future.
